Who is Intercoll?
Intercoll is a privately owned debt collection company that works on behalf of creditors who are owed money throughout New Zealand and even globally.
Why do you want all my details?
Initially it is to confirm that we are speaking with the correct person. We verify all of our customers’ details to ensure that all information we hold is correct, including: current address, contact numbers, bank details and employment records (if required). This is to ensure your information is safe and allows us to make collection decisions based around your personal situation. The supply of information is voluntary and securely stored on site at all times.
What if I can’t afford to make a payment?
You need to contact Intercoll to discuss your situation. It is best to be upfront and honest so that we can work with you to try and find a solution. Our agents may ask you to provide details of your assets, liabilities, income, expenditure and supporting documentation, to assess your ability to pay. We understand that these conversations can be stressful or embarrassing but we ask you to respect us as we are following up on the commitment you made when you entered into the initial contract for goods and services. At all times our staff are trained to seek resolution without confrontation.
What if I miss a payment?
You need to contact Intercoll before the payment becomes due to discuss the situation. Intercoll may be able to help you to defer the payment to another date or reassess the payment arrangement.

Intercoll charge no dishonour fees or account maintenance fees if you do dishonour a payment but remember your bank will charge you fees for dishonours.
What if I need help Budgeting?
Many of us do need help at stages of our lives where financial pressures and unexpected bills play havoc on our finances. Managing your money is about careful planning and we all have to do it. If you are receiving a benefit we also suggest you speak to your Case Manager who may wish to take the financial strain off you by allowing the repayments to come directly from your benefit.
